Humphrey Bower, Caroline Lee Length: Winton has a really strong connection with the sea and surf culture and he has a great respect for it, and I think that’s evident in this This is a little fable by Tim Winton, and even though I really don’t like Tim Winton, or his writing style, I liked this book.
Blueback is heart capturing story that all should read.
But the magic of Blueback isn’t only confined to the storyline, but the series of Penguin’s Australian Children’s Classics are all simply stunning. It was simply beautiful. What a stunning little book, and what tremendous restraint Winton has used in keeping it small. First published init has been translated into Italian, Dutch and Japanese. This is my first Tim Winton book, and based on my enjoyment of this novella, I’ll be timm for more from him. An American coming-of-age classic, a story of friendship and social prejudice among a gang of friends. He can’t remember a time when he couldn’t use a mask and snorkel to glide down into the clear deep. The thing is, Auggie’s just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. It is a very touching story that is set in a Coastal town in Australia, called Longboat Bay. A few times during the course of the book, Winton dangles cliched plot-lines in front of iwnton reader.

Nothing will ever be the same again. Blueback is a great novel, it’s an easy read and I recommend it to all ages. Winton’s own life has also been shaped by havoc.
